In Martin Place, ceremonial and cultural significance were key factors in developing a design that would unify and simplify and enhance the character of this important public domain. The $13 million upgrade and restoration project was completed in 2000.

In 2007 AJA began the on-going task of reviewing & upgrading accessibility to Martin Place Station, with the aim of improving pedestrian amenity and giving new life to this important city transit node. The upgrades include new lifts, family accessible toilets and general station refurbishments.
