I live in the Aldinga Arts Eco village South of Adelaide. I moved there at age 51 planning my retirement life such that I would not have to move again before I died. It has been very successful (I am now 60yrs) and I listened with a degree of satisfaction to Guy Luscombe on Life Matters and his 8 points. I designed my house around the future possibilities of sharing with a younger couple. I have seen many aged people forced to leave this village as management could not get approval or funding for any type of aged facility. There were insurance issues also and now there is just one suitable block of land available of 600 sqm. I am wondering how do we get municipalities and planning depts to approve communal living and co-housing in place of traditional retirement homes. I look forward to reading other people's experiences and examples of your design ideas. cheers Peter
