Leichhardt Municipal Council + Not So Young Club: INNOVATIVE HOUSING FOR SENIORS

WEDNESDAY 28 OCTOBER 2015
speaker: Guy Luscombe (AJA)
location: Hannaford Community Centre @ 608 Darling St, Rozelle
time: 11:30 – 12:30 PM (post talk: light lunch and opportunity to meet Guy)

Aligned with the wide interest generated by The NANA Report and role in a recent Co-Housing workshop, Guy was approached by a group of concerned seniors about what alternatives there are for older people in Sydney and has been asked by Leichhardt Council and the ‘Not So Young Club’ to speak.

A proactive group of Seniors from the Inner West area of Sydney are looking at ways to highlight “quality of life issues such as health, housing, safety and opportunities for education, recreation, volunteering and socialization” within a vibrant self sustaining community, a concept lacking in the Inner West. The group are keen to learn from Guy’s knowledge of aged care design & innovation, that would assist in developing a feasibility plan with a view to understanding the process of transforming ideas into reality.

AJA would like to thank the organisers Janice Macpherson [Not So Young Club] and LMC’s Gabrielle Higgins [Community Development Officer for Ageing, Disability and Social Inclusion].

For further information or to book contact Gabrielle Higgins on p: 9367 9043 or e: gabrielleh@lmc.nsw.gov.au
